Same bug for me: * Updated all packages on a Ubuntu 7.10 machine. * Ran update-manager to upgrade to 8.04. * Apt-get update gives the same error message as above. Many other programs fail similarly.
The proposed solution worked. I suggest to change ld.conf default settings so that it uses the newly installed version of libstdc++. People needing to use a local version of this lib by default should be able to reconfigure ld accordingly, while it is not trivial to identify the source of the problem. (I don't even remember why this local libstdc++ version is installed on my machine). -- cannot run apt-get after upgrading to ubuntu 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/180160 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
