Public bug reported:
Plenty of people will tell you "Linux is for geeks", "Windows is widely
used", and "Apple computers are simple and awesome". To some extent, I'm
sad to say that's true. Apple provides a unified set of apps that "just
work", as their annoying tagline says, but they work well. The only
problem is they lock you in so much that it's really hard to change
something you don't like. There should be a unified set of apps for
Ubuntu Linux but stilll allow full customization and allow you to choose
and even make different apps.
Also, windows being more widely used is bug #1, but we're chipping away
at that. The thing that's really messed up is how Apple seems to have
higher quality products and even though some say they are very
expensive, they're products are no more expensive than upper-end PCs.
With all the Linux support, we should have everything Apple and
Microsoft has (as far as apps and features) and more and *better*, as
well as simpler and better looking. These are very important aspects
that are often missed in Ubuntu.
