If I boot the Ubuntu install disk (in either install or Live FS mode) it
causes the existing JMicron RAID to 'split' (ie when I check it the BIOS
says that there are now 2 degraded arrays with 1 disk each in them).

Although I haven't had an opportunity to check properly yet - I am not
sure how to list what swap devices are currently in use.

Note that I don't run any dmraid commands or anything like that so I am
_very_ surprised the live FS is touching my disk at all. It would be
nice if it asked before just writing to something it thinks is blank...
(if indeed that is what is happening)
