The fix for this was published ages ago:
mscore (0.9.1d+dfsg-0ubuntu4) hardy; urgency=low
* mscore.sh: + Check for module-jack-sink in PulseAudio, rather than
just suspend blindly.
+ Clean up output.
+ Closes LP: #207565
* Enable PortAudio support.
