Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kvm
Until recently a realtek network driver (oh misery of miseries!) has
been the default network card in KVM. I've seen changelogs from the
Redhat kernel and I believe now that e1000 (The much loved Intel driver)
is available, they've made it the default network card model for their
build.
Can we do the same?
This will affect some users, but it's best to get it done now - it's
going to save lots of hassle for our users in the future, users I expect
to be affected are those using kvm to run windows, my Windows XP VM does
not work with e1000 drivers, but it does with the realtek ones so they
can simple set model=ne2k_pci
Cheers,
Henri
