Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libfaac-dev

I can't install libfaac-dev on my system (dapper with all updates installed and
universe / multiverse enabled).

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get install libfaac-dev Reading package lists...
Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed.
This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
libfaac-dev: Depends: libmp4-dev but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

It appears that libmp4v2-dev is available instead:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache search libmp4
libmp4v2-0 - MP4 container library - runtime files
libmp4v2-dev - MP4 container library - development files

Does this mean that libfaac-dev should be rebuilt (or its dependency
information upated)?

** Affects: faac (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
