Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: totem
When playing media from a remote filesystem normally mounted, when
moving the track slider back and forth, totem throws an error, "Failed
to connect to stream: OK". I can reproduce this issue with NFS and
samba mounted to a local directory. I can reproduce this with multiple
media players including totem and Rhythmbox. I cannot reproduce the
issue using Gnome VFS remote mounts. I cannot reproduce the issue in
Fedora 8.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Mount a remote filesystem to a local directory.
2) Open media on the remote filesystem with totem for example.
3) In totem, click and hold the track slider.
4) Move the slider back and forth several times until you get an error. The
faster you move the slider, the faster you will get the error.
Note: The difference between the normally mounted remote filesystems
and Gnome VFS mounts is that when moving the slider back and forth, the
normally mounted files will continuously update as you move the slider,
where the Gnome VFS files will only update the track when you let go of
the mouse button.
Version: Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64 updated 04/08/2008
