i have the same problem .. my harddisc is an old one: 4gb ..
after the ubuntu-logo it prints something like that for some minutes:

(it's just a part of the printed text and maybe not fully correct, cause
i have wrote it on a paper ...)
but if you need i can check the syslog (please tell me the directory) ..
