This apparently still does not work for all people. For those cases, can
affected people please do
lshal > /tmp/hal.txt
lsusb > /tmp/usb.txt
getfacl -R /dev/bus/usb/* > /tmp/perms.txt
while the scanner is on and plugged in, and attach /tmp/hal.txt,
/tmp/usb.txt, and /tmp/perms.txt here?
