I can confirm this bug with hardy. Unloading ehci_hcd or connecting via
Firewire works.
Regarding your HP-problems: Are you sure you suffer from the same bug? I
suggest opening a new bug with your problem which can be marked as
duplicate if it is really the same bug. Otherwise your problems are very
unlikely to be seen.
