The speakers work, but the headphones do not, on Gutsy and Hardy beta.
Plugging in a headphone just mutes the speakers. On Gutsy, I've tried
quite a few things to get it working, including installing oss and
pulseaudio, to no avail. I remember the best I got to getting the
headphones working was while running osstest:

In the first test, only the speakers play. In the second test, only the
headphones play! In the third test, nothing plays.

I would have tried osstest in Hardy beta except osstest isn't installed.
