The symptom is not the same--the other bug says keys repeat, whereas in
my case they simply don't function at all.  As in the other case, the
keys are physically working (hence, I can change to TTY1 and input text)
but they are not communicating with X.  And it has nothing to do with
system load--it happens when not many applications are open.  Keys do
not become responsive if I do "metacity --replace --display :0" on TTY1
--metacity replaces compiz but the problem is still there.
