you said -- "The usplash resolution issue has been fixed since beta if you install using the livecd-installer" -- but i dont know anymore if it was a livecd-installer or something else. I will try to reinstall using livecd installer and report again, may take some time for that though. As you suggested i edited the /etc/usplash.conf to match the screen resolution 1280 x 1024 but the problem still exists i.e. the boot logo still has a low resolution, but its funny though while shuting down the ubuntu logo has the perfect resolution. Note: I totally have only around 10 hours of hands-on exp. with linux and am completely to new to the Unix/Linux world so please be patient with me :-) I hope you can tell me more after seeing the log file.
