Public bug reported:

Hi.
This is a Dell XPS M1330 with Intel GMA X3100 (i965).

Hardys new screen-resolution-utility does not work well with that card.
The external display is detected correctly. Unfortunately screen resolutions
cannot be set independently.
If I choose a resolution for the external device that is higher than the
laptops resolution, the laptops desktop is somewhat "extended" and cut off. So
I can't see my bottom panel, for example.
Choosing a smaller resolution results in the images being ugly "compressed".

Extending the laptops display by dragging the other screen doesn't work
at all. It has the same effect as the clone-mode.

So both doesn't work, which is quite sad.

If you need anything else, just let me know.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
