I've been able to spend a good couple of hours using XRANDR with the Intel GM965 chipset system I have got. Their are multiple fail types. I have tried to compile the complete list here:
> Any xrandr changes to the TV output require a system reboot before they are > applied. Xrandr will report immediately however that the change was > successful. > Sometimes not even a reboot will make a change in xrandr work and it will > have reverted to its previous state > On any boot, the TV output may be working, the VGA output may be working, > both may be working, or neither maybe working. I can reboot over and over > again without making any changes and cannot predict what will be enabled with > the next boot. xrandr will always report that both VGA and TV are both > working. > If the TV is on and output enabled, any changes made to the TV output using > xrandr causes the TV to switch off. A reboot is required to turn it back on > and to see the new changes. > The graphical xrandr tool (preferences > screen resolution) has randomly > crashed when changing screen resolutions when the "cloned output" tickbox is > checked. xrandr -v: version is 1.2 I will post xorg.conf and the outputs from xrandr -q Regards, John -- no support for TV-Out https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/6270 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
