Public bug reported:

I use Ubuntu Hardy Beta i386 server edition as a file/printing/PulseAudio/MPD
server
I updated my server this morning and rebooted on the new kernel (2.6.24-16), in
vain.
GRUB loads correctly but then it just says "loading, please wait"

I tried the same kernel with "recovery" and it stops at "Begin: Waiting
for root file system..."

I rebooted with the previous kernel (2.6.24-15), it worked, all the
services loaded correctly but when I logged with ssh it said:

"Could not chdir to home directory /home/fluo: No such file or directory
To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo <command>".
See "man sudo_root" for details."

ls /home shows nothing

fstab says:

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
