I have the same problem. I type in a sudo command and am asked for my password
followed by a blinking black square (curser). When I try to type in my password
nothing happens - the curser just keeps on blinking. I hit enter and get the
same message. See below

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo -l
[sudo] password for xx:

After not being able to enter my password, I hit enter and get the
following.

Sorry, try again.
[sudo] password for xx:

If I have to turn on my root account (whatever that is) how do I do it.
I tried help but got a bunch of gobbly guk which would require me to be
a Unix expert to understand.

I am a single user with 30 years of Dos/Windows experience using a
single desktop computer. Why is this so difficult.
