I'm not talking about roaming mode. The behavior I am talking about is
if you hit "Manual Configuration..." and change anything *at all* in the
Gnome Network Administration Tool (roaming mode or not) you cannot then
see any wireless networks in the Network Manager Applet drop-down. I
found a workaround in the meantime - delete everything but the "iface
foo0 auto" in /etc/network/interfaces and restart the applet. Once you
do that the applet behaves as expected. However, this is at my last
test, which was a few months ago. I apologize for not having a test env.
at this moment, I am doing a pretty intensive network synchronization on
my laptop right now. I should be able to update again in a few hours. I
also have an 8.04 beta CD sitting on my desk, waiting for me to test
with.
