Changing the package to "envyng-core". I just rebooted, went to a text console, ran "envyng -t", and told it to install the nvidia drivers. That ran, installed several more packages(huh?). After rebooting everything is working fine.
I no longer thing this is critical, since there's a solution to it. But it still seems like something is wrong in envyng. I had installed envyng last night. Today I ran it, but just cancelled out (I never killed it). I'm guessing that envy left something in some sort of half- baked state, so that the update manager wanted a different version of the driver when the system wasn't ready for it. -- nvidia-glx-new 169.12+2.6.24.500-500.23~envy fails to start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
