- Rationale: enables networking for Broadcom Wifi users, which are a lot. - Relatively simple wget/debconf wrapper to grab firmware from existing known location and install it; can also extract it from a MacOS or other driver CD. - Proven to work for a lot of users. - Asks debconf question whether to download the firmware, which is justified in this case IMHO. Has jockey integration for ease of use. - Simple dependencies, all in main (glibc, wget, debconf) Approved and promoted. ** Changed in: b43-fwcutter (Ubuntu Hardy) Status: New => Fix Released -- b43 is not detected by "Hardware drivers" on livecd (Hardy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
