Public bug reported:

I'm on Hardy, updated 13 April. I was using version 0.2.6.1 (package
libmtp7), but I built version 3.0 from source with debugging enabled and
the result was the same. Using any of the command-line tools (mtp-
detect, mtp-files etc) the result is:

libmtp version: 0.2.6.1

Attempting to connect device(s)
PTP: Opening session
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I have a stack trace from version 3.0, also a strace log. I also ran the
programs under valgrind, but they run successfully! In any case, I'll
included the valgrind log.

The device I'm trying to access is a Toshiba gigabeat P10 1GB.
