No I have found a work around that fixes the problem. I keep a backup(Evolution) on my desktop. The problem is seen when the backup is on a USB drive and you select restore. Restore will not work from a USB drive. I am using an 80 GB USB drive from iomega. I am always running in online mode with internet access using a high speed cable(Comcast).
