Just curious what specific version of linux-ubuntu-modules you have
installed? linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-16.21 contained a patch which
resulted in some systems experiencing issues during boot. This should
have been reverted with linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-16.22:

If this is still an issue with the latest version please attach your
dmesg output to this bug report. Thanks.
