Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I am not sure if this is a problem with openoffice or gvfs.
Hardy Beta, OpenOffice 2.4, Core 2 duo with 64 bit Hardy.
I use my Ubuntu system to access sharepoint at my workplace and I do so
by browsing to the webdav shares on sharepoint with Nautilus.
I used to do this on Gutsy and it worked flawlessly, it would ask for my
password when I clicked on the file and away I would go, save and close
and it's all great.
On Hardy I can open the document just the same, save and close, but when
I or anyone else tries to access the document later it will only open
read-only and it says it is booked out to my username. The only way I
can access the file again is to delete it and replace it with the new
version. The problem with that is that it removes all the old versions
as well and negates the effect of sharepoint's version control system.
This is a bit of a showstopper for me and means I have to run XP with MS
Office in Virtualbox just to access sharepoint.
** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)
