Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

Im' testing hardy heron, and vlc don't load the subtitles. Totem read
correctly. To make they read, i need to remove all spaces, all special
characters (like hyphens) and all caps from the avi/srt. ie. a subtitle
called 'Glass and wine' don't open, i need to rename they for
'glassandwine'

After this vlc find and load the subtitle, but some words or phrases
don't appear. Then, i need to open the file containing the subtitle
(.srt in my case) and save it again with other encoding (western -
iso8859-15). Then i need to open in vlc -> Preferences -> Input / Codecs
-> Other codecs -> Subtitles, Subtitle text and put the same encoding
(western - iso8859-15).

vlc: 0.86e
