The problem I think is with this line in /etc/skel/.bashrc
case "$TERM" in
xterm*|rxvt*)
PROMPT_COMMAND+='; echo -ne "\033]0;[EMAIL PROTECTED]: ${PWD/$HOME/~}\007"'
;;
*)
;;
esac
Which I believe makes this a bug in bash, I managed to produce a fix:
case "$TERM" in
xterm*|rxvt*)
PROMPT_COMMAND+='; echo -ne "\033]0;[EMAIL PROTECTED]: "; ([[ "$PWD" ==
"$HOME" || "${PWD:0:(( ${#HOME} + 1))}" == "$HOME/" ]] && echo "${PWD/$HOME/~}"
|| echo "$PWD"); echo -ne "\007"'
;;
*)
;;
esac
There might be a better way but this works for me.
