I also confirmed with Konqueror.  All of the KDE apps seem to be using
"KDE Daemon" as their method to access the wallet, so not sure if the
root of the issue is with kwalletmanager or the underlying KDE component
(guessing that it is part of kdebase).  I think that it needs to be
reclassified by somebody that better understands the interaction between
the components.

One small change that I noticed is that in my latest testing, I was able
to get "KDE Daemon" to appear on the list of processes that are allowed
to access the wallet (wallet->settings->access control).  Even though
the KDE Daemon now has access, the passwords are still not being saved.
