Thanks for your patience! I have followed your instructions as below,
while it doesn't work for me:


 1. sudo apt-get build-dep network-manager
 2. sudo apt-get install bzr devscripts
 3. bzr branch 
https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/network-manager/ubuntu.0.6.x.ap_scan
 network-manager.ubuntu
 4. cd network-manager.ubuntu
 5. debuild -b

All the first four steps are just OK, while when I came to the 5th step,
I got a message "fatal error..." in the terminal, should I first
uninstall the network-manager existed and then run the steps? By the
way, why not release the patches in the source so that our rookies can
update network-manager in Synaptic? You know,  "compile and build" is
often a killer for the rookie's ubuntu!
