Public bug reported: Binary package hint: acpi-support
Before upgrading to 8.04, I was using nvidia MX420 video card with Ubuntu 7.10, by setting Option "NvAGP" "1" (#34034), it was able to reliably suspend to disk and restore from suspend. After upgrading to 8.04 and replacing video card to FX5200, I can not get the system back from suspension, the monitor became black screen with no response to keyboard and mouse events, the only thing I can do is to shut down the power. I tried Option "NvAGP" "1" in the xorg.conf file, it did not help; I blacklisted intel_agp and agpgart, but they did not help either, agpgard is still being loaded mars:~> lsmod | grep nvidia nvidia 7822720 24 agpgart 33328 1 nvidia i2c_core 23696 9 tuner,tea5767,tda8290,tuner_simple,mt20xx,tea5761,saa7134,ir_kbd_i2c,nvidia I modified /etc/default/acpi-support based on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaLaptopBinaryDriverSuspend , it was unable to change the situation.
