Binary package hint: sudo
I just installed ubuntu 6.06 + all current updates and, due to
fatigue, made an error - I set the date 3 days ahead of
what it should be. I probably ran sudo a few times before
I noticed the problem, and then set the date to the
correct value While one terminal worked as expected, any
new terminal would not let me run sudo, complaining about
a time stamp problem. I tried "sudo -K" to clear the
timestamps (which I knew were wrong) and got the same
error message.
I suspect sudo is checking to see if time stamps are within
range before doing anything else. It needs to treat the
"-K" option specially so that one can fix everything up if
the timestamps are legitimately wrong.
I did not check if rebooting would solve the problem.
Instead, I used the working terminal window and set up
a root password and reset the timestamp dates manually
using 'touch'.
I'm using version 1.6.8p12-lubuntu6 on an i686 architecture.
