Public bug reported:

In the last two days I had two Xorg locks: my monitor turns off, it
apparantly gets no signal anymore. CTRl-ALT-BackSpace and CTRL-ALT-F1
does not result in anything: the screens stays turned off (and thus
black)

I have never had any lock-ups before the two in the last two days.

The system is still remotely accessible: the webserver is still OK, and
I can login using ssh (from another machine). It turns out Xorg is at
100% CPU load (see top below). I thought a "sudo kill -9 <pid of Xorg>"
would solve the problem, but that killed the remote SSH and HTTP access.
I then had to cold-boot the system using the power switch.

Hardware: AMD64 Athlon X2, 4GB RAM, Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron 64-bit,
fully updated. Video is onboard ATI X1250 / X1200, using the
prop.driver.

/etc/X11/xorg.conf included.
