Public bug reported:
I downloaded the Hardy Heron Release Candidate for AMD64
I burned the CD and booted.
Then I selectected the Check CD for defects option in the boot menu
The screen wen't black just before to start testing the CD
The screen never recovered.
I use a GeForce 8500GT, a TFT monitor Samsung SyncMaster 151BM ( 1024x768x75Hz
),
6Gb DDR2, ABIT FP IN9 SLI motherboard with an Intel E2140
The same happens too when Ubuntu is booting
but it's solved once Gnome starts to boot. The same happens to the x86 version
by the way.
I suspect the problem is that you are using a strange
text mode that the GF8500GT or the monitor does not support.
thanks
