Apologies. This is a bad bug report. It was only due to the inability to replace the older package. I attempted to remove, but it reported a very bad inconsistent state.
I actually managed to get everything working and dmraid of this PPA package fixes the problem for me. I did the following: * Edited sources.list to use the standard urls. * apt-get update * used "apt-get remove dmraid" > error: package in very bad inconsistent state. * renamed /etc/init.d/dmraid to /etc/init.d/dmraid.bak * removed old package. * edited sources.list. Added the PPA. * apt-get update * apt-get install dmraid > no problems installing "Version: 1.0.0.rc14-0ubuntu3~ppa1" * dmraid -ay > no problems or crashes * restart -> voila! everything works on 8.04! -- dmraid on latest hardy beta core dumped https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205307 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
