I moved the configuration aside and restarted xorg. That didn't help. Then I ran "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" to create a new config file and restarted xorg again. That didn't help either.
I'm still using Ubuntu 7.10. Is that a problem?
