Public bug reported:

Hello!

Last night I updated to Hardy and now, when I login in to the gnomes
session, it takes a lot of time just to load a desktop. Finally when I'm
logged in, it shows a message that it couldn't start gnome-settings-
daemon and will try to start it during the next login. Looking into the
processes I've noticed many zombie ones. Here is an output of the ps ax
| grep Z command:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ps ax | grep Z
 6740 ? Z 0:00 [gnome-power-man] <defunct>
 6741 ? Z 0:00 [gnome-power-man] <defunct>
 6951 ? ZN 0:00 [totem-video-ind] <defunct>
20977 ? Z 0:00 [xrdb] <defunct>
20979 ? Z 0:00 [xrdb] <defunct>
20984 ? Z 0:00 [gnome-settings-] <defunct>
21678 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep Z
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I reverted all the changes I did to the gnome configuration, including
custom themes and panel-applets. Also I wiped all .gnome2 and .gconf
directories from my ~/ but nothing helped.

Here is my .xsession-errors, hope it will be usefull.
