Opendict tries to import xml.dom.ext and raises an exception if it is not found, and use PrettyPrint from python-xml. Changing to use PrettyPrint from python-4suite-xml is not trivial. Upstream has removed the python-xml dependency in svn trunk. Therefore it seems best to me to use python-xml in Hardy and then use a new upstream version / svn export in Intrepid to remove the python-xml dependency again.
Attached debdiff solves the issue, builds in a Hardy pbuilder, installs and runs on an up-to-date Hardy system. ** Attachment added: "opendict.debdiff" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13576525/opendict.debdiff ** Changed in: opendict (Ubuntu) Assignee: Albert Damen (albrt) => (unassigned) Status: In Progress => New -- missing dependency python-xml in opendict package (Ubuntu Hardy Beta) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
