Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: texmacs

In Ubuntu 8.04, using texmacs 1:1.0.6.11-2. It is supposed to create
missing fonts from their metafont source upon first use. This doesn't
work. The terminal output while running texmacs looks like this:

mktextfm: Running mf-nowin -progname=mf \mode:=ljfour; mag:=1; nonstopmode;
input rtcxr
This is METAFONT, Version 2.71828 (Web2C 7.5.6)

kpathsea: Running mktexmf rtcxr
! I can't find file `rtcxr'.
<*> ...e:=ljfour; mag:=1; nonstopmode; input rtcxr

Please type another input file name
! Emergency stop.
<*> ...e:=ljfour; mag:=1; nonstopmode; input rtcxr

grep: rtcxr.log: No such file or directory
mktextfm: `mf-nowin -progname=mf \mode:=ljfour; mag:=1; nonstopmode; input
rtcxr' failed to make rtcxr.tfm.

-------------

Installing the extra fonts package doesn't help, running texmacs as root
doesn't help. I've deleted .TeXmacs in my home directoy and tried
starting again from scratch, but that didn't help either.
