Hi I am running the new release candidate of Ubuntu 8.04 and Rhythmbox does the same as above - after an hour or two it freezes - I am able to kill the app, simply by right-clicking on the taskbar and choosing close, and then saying to the pop-up window asking if I want to stop the app which is not responding - however after that I cannot play any further sound of any sort, even in a movie in Totem - it would appear that the sound system becomes totally locked - I have to reboot to cure this - and after a reboot Rhythmbox plays as before the freeze.
Please note the files are in my home directory, as created by Ubunu during the install process, this is a default install of Ubuntu 8.04, plus all updates as of an hour back. I am running Ubuntu in a dual-boot with WinXP on a 200 gig drive - Ubuntu is on the last 40 gig space, which was unused prior to install of Ubuntu. App is Rhythmbox 0.11.5 The codecs are ones suggested by Totem, prior to starting Rhythmbox - 2 Gstreamer packages, allowing mp3 and avi support The other applications are not affected, barring the fact that I need to restart to regain access to sound. If there is any further info you need please let me know. I am wondering if I should install Amarok to see if it happens with that too - which would then point to the sound system rather than Rhythmbox ? Thanks Gray -- Edgy, rhythmbox freeze when playing mp3 for a long time. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80383 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
