Public bug reported:
Background was scarring during installation of 8.04 although all
functional windows were ok. It's Dell Dimension 5100. After installation
background was frightening too. The reason was found to be in visual
effects of appearance preferences panel. When None everything is fine.
Probably this videoadapter is not supported yet. I would suggest to turn
off visual effects during installation.
