Hi:
I found a workaround, at least it works for me:
1) Install compizconfig-settings-manager
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
2) run it
System -> Preferences -> Advanced Desktop Effects Settings
3) then unselect Fading Windows
it should go back to normal.
