I too suffer from same issue, tried using Nick Frolov's advice on manually unmounting the .gvfs folder. The problem is only half solved... ls -la |grep .gvfs dr-x------ 2 user user 0 2008-04-19 18:35 .gvfs
Notice the permissions on folder? on my 64bit systemm the folder has also write permission.
