Marking this bug as Invalid. From the conversation it is clear that
you've incorrectly added modules to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules which
are not intended to be there.
Booting is a tricky process with a fairly strict ordering, "essential
drivers" is intended to be just that - modules that absolutely must be
loaded for the system to even function (thermal or fan control modules,
for example). Other drivers are loaded automatically by udev in the
initramfs and later in userspace, and finally you can add modules that
require manual loading to the ordinary /etc/modules
