As I said it is the menu Item (files -> history) in synaptic package
manager that doesn't show the history ( it stops on feb.26 ). I
suspect this is because of the new permissions package.
Below your text in this letter is the listing of log-files in
/root/.synaptic.
To get the listing I had to file another 2 bug reports, before I stopped
sending them.
I believe most are caused by permission errors.
Nautilus (or something) hung while trying to copy a 4GB file for the
error report. This system has well over a million files on it, and many
of them have a brief existence. The system was designed to resolve
circular and recursive references. Unfortunately, apport was not, and so
the error reports grows until they are stopped. There appears to be no
place to report general system problems automatically. I am currently
looking at the diffs of logs for April 13 and April 14.
