Tried using HG version of alsa which still did not work. It seems the
auto configuring of the available HDA widgets from the BIOS is not
working on the GA-MA78GM-S2H.
As a work around you can add the line below to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-6ch-dig
Not sure if this bug should now be kept open.
