Public bug reported:
Installing on both a centrino desktop and a core duo laptop, i386
desktop Kubuntu 8.04 beta cannot be adminstered via the GUI, because in
control panels, clicking Administer button and entering password into
ksudo-auth-dialogue shifts GUI into Administrator mode showing red-
border on window-pane, but does not grant administrator privileges, so
functions remain greyed-out and it's impossible to administer the
system. This on i386 Kubuntu 8.04 beta desktop. The same problem results
by installing i386 Kubuntu 7.10 and doing a version upgrade.
