Public bug reported:
I am running Ubuntu 7.10 on an x86 PC with onboard LAN port. When I
shut down ubuntu correctly the LAN no longer shows up in the bios,
windows, or linux operating systems. (As if it doesn't exist at all)
although the lights still light up. I can make it come back if I shut
down the computer using the power switch on the PSU at anytime during
boot or runtime. I am not sure what package this pertains to if any.
