I am using Hardy, having no problems with kernel version 2.6.24-16-generic. If I try to boot from kernel 2.6.24-16-server, however, I get precisely the same error message as listed above. My system is a Dell Inspiron 510m laptop (Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1500MHz, 512mb RAM). I am running the latest BIOS (A11) and there are no advanced BIOS settings available that I can imagine may make a difference.
