Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
Version: 0.6.6-0ubuntu5
Ubuntu version: Hardy Heron 8.04 RC (clean install, not dist upgrade)
I have a Dell XPS m1530 laptop with an Intel 4965AGN wireless network
card.
Initially, the card worked perfectly, out of the box. Yesterday I
flicked the wireless switch (a slider, not a key combination like
Fn+F2). As expected, wifi and bluetooth dropped out. I then turned the
switch back on.
Network-manager no longer sees my wireless card, only my (disconnected)
wired NIC. I have rebooted several times. If I setup the connection
manually using network-admin, I can connect to the internet through the
card fine.
What is weird is that iwlist works perfectly and DOES show wifi
networks. Running nm-tool only shows eth0.
When I flicked the switch back on, only the bluetooth light illuminated,
no WiFi light. I have rebooted many times and I cannot get the light to
come back on, this may or may not be related.
Here is some diagnostic info which may help.
