Scenario a)
one of the plasmoids you tried caused the plasma crash and caused a broken
applets configuration file
scenario b)
plasma crashed because of a broken applets configuration file caused by one of
the plasmoids
scenario c)
you just removed you bottom panel and then plasma crashed because it was
feeling like it and because it was updated earlier on and didn't get restarted
(which is most likely the case IMO)
Eitherway it is difficult to reproduce why the crash happened and why
your bottom panel disappeared, however we might be able to track the
latter down
run:
cp ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc ~/plasma-appletsrc
You will find the file plasma-appletsrc in your home directory, please
attach it to this bug
to fix the issue:
rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc
I am marking the bug as invalid since technically this crash was most
likely a one-time-update-crash(tm)
