Public bug reported: Whereas on Gutsy, all Ubuntu functions were quick and smooth, now even the screensaver (Euphoria) makes me feel jumpy!
As an example, I have WinXP operating as a VMware client, because as we know there are still some out there who aren't able/willing to provide Linux versions. In WinXP all mouse moves and keyboard strokes can now take a while to catch-up whereas under Gusty they were instant as one would expect unless something demanding was going on. Writing this response, the keystrokes and mouse moves are up-to-speed in Ubuntu, however looking in the WinXP window at the same time and moving the mouse to open a new program window takes more time. In the "Sys Internals" window I use in WinXP the idle processes are currently showing around 90% so no either memory or process intensive operations going on there. At the same time the System Monitor (Ubuntu) suggests most activities are sleeping (sorry, can't say what they were before). Moving between the Ubuntu window and the WinXP virtual machine window has been instant but there is a small delay now. I know this is an awkward one because nothing is actually failing, it just feels more like operating in treacle than previously... ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- system very jerky since installed ubuntu-studio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
